new basics

You might have watched my stories a couple weeks ago when I had a little, teeny, tiny freak out about literally having ZERO basic pieces in my closet. No plain white tee, no solid black tops, no basics anywhere. There are lots of polka dots, florals, and prints, but I realized I needed new basics and now I’m sharing what I’ve found.

white lace tank // dark straight cut jeans

This is one of the Amazon pieces I ordered to start collecting new basics. I really like this lace trim on the tank and it definitely looks way more expensive than the $18 it cost. You can wear a regular bra with it and the lace goes through the back too.

I just got in these NYDJ jeans and I am obsessed. These are the Marilyn Straight Leg in Alton. I’m sharing a light wash version below too. The raw hem keeps it trendy, while still being a classic cut.

white lace cami // light wash jeans

Another lace top, but totally different from the one above. This cami has adjustable spaghetti straps and makes for a perfect date night basic. The only thing I didn’t love about this new basic was the lace. It didn’t seem as quality as the lace on the other top. It’s also really long, so I tucked it in for a better look. Still, for $17, you can’t beat the price.

Loving these light wash jeans from NYDJ! They have two exposed buttons and then two hidden snaps so it doesn’t gap like the typical exposed button fly. They are super flattering and just so good for spring.

black puff sleeve bodysuit // exposed button jeans

Y’all have probably seen me wear these jeans a ton over on Instagram. They are my new basics FAVE and are so soft and stretchy. Plus, I love the raw hem detail. There are limited sizes left because they are majorly marked down, but there are tons of similar options too! Overall, I highly recommend adding this denim brand to your closet.

Another new favorite, this under $10 puff sleeve bodysuit. You can get a better look over on my Instagram stories, but I am OBSESSED with this new basic piece. It’s super flattering and if you aren’t into bodysuits, you can just fold in the bottom part and wear as a top.

Alright, I know this was short and sweet, but I’ll keep y’all in the loop each time I get new basics! Also, if you have a must have basic piece, comment below and let me know!

P.s. I’m planning my next reals + deals post and y’all are going to be obsessed! If you missed the last one, click HERE.

Cheers,

Caitlin
