fall home updates

I have been so bad about sharing home decor lately, but with moving and all the changes, there hasn’t been much decorating going on. I’m trying to be way more minimal than I was in our Houston house, but I’ve been itching to add some fall home updates here and there. I’m sharing how I’m trying to refresh on a budget below and then a round up of items that are perfect for a fall home update.

p.s. you can shop my fall ready dress here.

fall home updates I’m making

  • Curtains// I’ve talked about it before, but it’s one of my favorite, easy home updates no matter the season. I’m dying over these velvet curtains for fall and winter.
  • Finials// fancy word for the ends of your curtain rods. It’s been so hard to find really chic curtain rods that aren’t super expensive, so I’m keeping the same rods and ordering some cuter finials. Some of my favorite spots to shop finials are West Elm and Amazon.
  • Counter stools// Since we downsized, we got rid of our kitchen table, but now have a 7’ island in our kitchen. I’ve been looking for the perfect counter stools that aren’t too farmhouse or too modern and aren’t like $200 a piece. I saw these in store and they are actually super comfortable. They’re a tad farmhouse, but I think I can mix in enough modern to make them more subtle.

In the next couple weeks I’m going to share a super easy centerpiece idea if you’re hosting this holiday season. Also, please send me photos so I can live through you. I want to host a Friendsgiving SO bad, but I want to invite about 10x more people than I have seating for. Soooo, probs not this year. NEXT YEAR or I’m going to cram this apartment with my friends. Guaranteed.

Cheers,

Caitlin
