work-to-weekend skirt

For the most part, I’m a neutrals gal. I mean, my favorite colors are sage green and basically every shade of taupe. But y’all know by now that I am also a sucker for a good pop of color in the middle of all those neutrals. Well, I’m bringing you a big pop of color today in the form of this darling, work-to-weekend skirt that is perfect for fall in the most colorful way.

I saw this skirt online at Target a couple weeks ago and I liked it, but wasn’t completely sold on it. Until I saw it in store. The colors are fall perfection. Like “hello gorgeous jewel tones that are so flattering on everyone” kind of fall perfection.

I love the bold, fall colors, but there’s enough black and white to make it simple to pair with tops you already have in your closet. Nothing is worse than falling in love with something and then spending the next 3 months searching for the perfect color top to go with it.

I wore it originally with a white tank and denim jacket, but had a total light bulb moment and remembered I had this wine-colored tank. It literally goes perfectly. Thank you style gods. Either way you go, this work-to-weekend skirt is a show stopper.

Also, can we talk about the waistline this skirt gives with the tie-top waist? It’s perfectly flowy without being too baggy. And the button detail is so trendy and gives it some flair. For fit, go down a size because it runs big.

For work, I’m wearing it with my go-to blazer, that I can’t get enough of. It’s sold out, but I’m linking ones that are super similar in fit for y’all. If you aren’t a blazer kinda babe, a neutral cardigan would be perfect with this look too.

No surprise that I’m also wearing my favorite nude flats that are on major sale. Like 60% off kind of major sale. Plus they come in over 5 different colors and patterns. I can’t recommend them enough. Go up a half size because of the pointed toe for fit.

weekend

For the weekend, I switched out the blazer for this dreamy, cropped sweater that is actually super old and some booties. I’m linking super similar sweaters and booties below too. I added some tortoise hoops that are so fun and under $15 to go with the work-to weekend skirt.

Basically, you need this look because you can go from office, to errands, to brunch, and back to a business meeting all in one work-to-weekend skirt. Plus, you’ll look amazing doing all of it.

cheers,

caitlin
