Okay, I seriously dub myself as a dessert expert. If you knew the number of sweets I’ve had in my lifetime, you would totally agree. I recently discovered that tomorrow (8/4) is National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day and how could I let that pass us up?!
Also, I couldn’t find my exact jumpsuit, but I’m linking a similar one that looks just as comfy right here.
I love to bake and always try different recipes, but J and I stumbled upon the best recipe for chocolate chip cookies.
Funny story, a couple weeks ago I took an allergy pill because I wasn’t feel good. An hour later I went and laid in bed to relax and woke up around midnight. Happens right? Well, I had planned on making cookies and set everything out for it before I passed out. So J being the A+ husband he is, found the recipe on my Pinterest and made it himself. Fast forward a couple week and J has made this recipe at least 10 times. It’s that good.
I definitely have to give credit where it’s due, so I’m sharing the original recipe below. But we have tweaked it a little and I wanted to share that with y’all too.
So, just a couple minor changes we made were:
- adding 1/3 cup of brown sugar instead of 1/4.
- less chocolate chips. I don’t like it to be overkill with the chocolate chips.
It’s a simple recipe and just has the usual ingredients that you probably already have in the pantry.
p.s. don’t ask why the baking soda box is backwards because i don’t have an answer.
I feel kinda crazy for sharing that we changed up the recipe because who does that? But I seriously love to bake and if I had it my way I wouldn’t measure anything. J on the other hand, measures every drop of every ingredient. Balance, right?
Either way, these are the best chocolate chip cookies and a perfect weekend activity with a sweet treat at the finish line. And how can we not celebrate National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day?
