favorite summer shorts

It’s summer, that’s obvious. Short shorts in the summer? Not my obvious choice. You will usually find me in a flowy sundress all summer, but I saw these shorts and they changed my mind completely. These are now my favorite summer shorts. I’m linking everything at the bottom of this post.

Easy, breezy, beautiful, summer shorts. That’s about how I feel in these. If you’re a southern girl or even worn denim shorts in the blazing heat, you know the feeling. The uncomfortable feeling. That’s why I usually avoid shorts all together.

These striped beauties have an elastic waist (perfect for summer barbeques), pockets, and are a linen blend. a.k.a. they’re stretchy, lightweight, and ultra-flattering. I usually don’t even wear high-waisted bottoms either, but these gave me all the confidence in the world.

They’re so easy to dress up with some fun wedges and a dressy summer top. If you’re like me, you’re wearing it casual, with a bralette, fun earrings, knotted tank, and sandals. I’m on the hunt for a perfect crop top to dress them up a little bit, though. If you have any ideas, let me know!

Also, I just have to share that I haven’t been editing any of my pictures, and I’m super proud. I’m just being myself and forcing myself out of my comfort zone, especially in this outfit. So just a reminder that it’s okay to be yourself and embrace your body, even if you aren’t exactly where you want to be. Or even if you are where you want to be, don’t hide anything just because you might be a little different.

Okay, rant over.

I shared my sandals on this post, but you can find them so many places in so many different patterns and colors. They’re so comfortable and will take you through all your summer shenanigans. I shared my new cutie cork clutch/crossbody on this post too. Also, highly recommend these lightweight, super fun earrings. They come in a couple different colors and dress up any look.

P.S. my bralette comes in a bunch of colors and is on super sale.

Lastly, I’m so excited to share my trip to Austin with J this weekend! I can’t believe we have been married almost one year. It’s been a crazy good year. J doesn’t know this yet, but we’re going to do a post all about our first year of marriage and share everything we’ve experienced so far.

cheers,

caitlin
