easy home refresh

Easy Home Refresh Ideas

For some reason, every year when I take down the Christmas decorations I feel like my house is empty. Something about all the glitter, reindeer, lights, and decor make me love my house even more. So, I got to thinking and wanted to share a few easy and inexpensive ways for a home refresh anytime of the year.

Even though I wish I could just go crazy at Home Goods and revamp the heck outta my house, I’m trying to not completely sabotage my new marriage. hehe.

The Little Things

The accent decor aisles of any home store are always my favorites. You can find some of the most random, but stylish little things to switch out of coffee tables, bookshelves, or mantles. They can totally transform your space and sometimes I will just rearrange ones I already have in different rooms to give a whole new vibe. Some of my favorites are lanterns, geodes, picture frames, and little signs. Here’s where you can grab this fun hanging shelf.

pro tip: Switch out pictures in frames to fun quotes. I find all mine on Pinterest and just print them on card stock.

Curtains

Curtains are so easy to transform any room in a big way. Switching out a bright summer curtain for a more rich colored fall curtain can be so simple, but give the room a totally different look. Even if you stick to more neutral colors, switch it up for a new texture or pattern for an easy home refresh.

pro tip: Target always has amazing curtains and they’re almost always on sale.

Flowers

Am I the only person who always forgets how fresh flowers can totally make a house a home? It seems like such a no-brainer, but adding fresh flowers to a room can instantly make it feel more sophisticated and thoughtful. Hobby Lobby is always my favorite places to get different vases and sometimes I’ll even throw some flowers in a cute pitcher and put it on our bar cart. So simple. So pretty.

*even Brewer gets into it.

pro tip: Trader Joe’s always has the best fresh flowers.

Hope this post gave you some “on-a-budget inspo” and keeps you from adding everything at Pottery Barn into your cart. Your bank account will thank you.

cheers,

caitlin
